AMP12x0

About

AMP12x0 is a minimalistic DJ program for the Microsoft Windows operating system, sporting two artificial turntables and a mixer, with natural user interaction.

Backstory

Before I developed this program, I had picked up DJing with other software, and I wanted a real pair of turntables and a mixer. For various reasons, I didn’t get around to acquiring them. The DJ software I had tried at the time made no attempts at emulating real turntables, and instead had a heavy emphasis on enhancing the DJing experience with various advanced features. This was not what I wanted. As such, I decided to write a simple DJ program that would emulate two turntables and a mixer, to give me an experience more similar to working with turntables.

Features

  • Two artificial turntables and a mixer
  • Drag & drop MP3s onto the turntables
  • Set the playback position by lifting and dropping the turntable arm
  • Scratching
  • Playback pitch control with sliders on artificial turntables
  • Make smaller, temporary pitch adjustments by dragging and pushing on the artificial record labels
  • Mixer crossfader between turntable mixer channels
  • Three-band equalizer per turntable mixer channel
  • Two-way filter per turntable mixer channel
  • Separate monitoring, using either separate surround soundcard outputs or two soundcards
  • Customizable themes
